Description

Screening of diabetic retinopathy -course is held at the photographic unit in Herttoniemi City Hospital, Helsinki, where photographic screening and follow-up of diabetic patients living in Helsinki takes place. The flow of patients from referral, to digital photography will be demonstrated. Red-free, digital 60° fundus images are screened for diabetic retinopathy and any other pathology, not to forget other findings resembling diabetic retinopathy i.e. wet age-related macular degeneration. Grading of various degrees of diabetic retinopathy is done in an interactive manner. Two severity scales of diabetic retinopathy are used, one for screening and the other one for ophthalmologists responsible for treatment. This is an on-site demonstration of the entire actual process.

The maximum number of participants is 20, first come, first served.
